RECORD PRISES FOR BROOD MARES
The dispersal sale of the well-known Kin loch stud at Little River, Canterbury, was held yesterday, and attracted a large gathering of breeders and racing men, including visitors from Australia and the North Island. Record prices for brood mares were made by two English mares, purchased by the late Mr' Buchanan whilst in England four years ago. Following were among the best prices ; Brood mares; Torquato (imported), with foal at foot, £110; Mayabuka (imp.), with foal, £160; Sweet Charity (imp.), A. B. Williams, Gisborne, £800; Cymcne (imp.), A. B. Williams, Gisborne, £2,250; Strona (imp.), H. Chisholm and Co., Sydney, £2,250; Kildee. £190; Rainbow Gold, £160; Lovelorn, _ £100; Samaris, £180; Polvnnia (imp.), H. Chisholm and Co., Sydney, £375; Piueta (imp.), A. B. Williams, £325; War Lady, £175; Trichas (imp.), £7O; Lady Kmlocb, £llO. Stallions: Paladin (imp.), A. G. Hill, Dunedin, £130; Diacquerod (imp.), J. Donald, Westmcre stud, Wanganui, £325. Yearlings: Colt by Raladm—Rainbow Gold, £80; filly, Paladin—Pineta, passed at £l5O.
