RIFLE SHOOTING

KAITANGATA CLUB. The Kailangata Defence Rifle Club fired the second shoot of the second competition for the Lee Cup on Saturday, The conditions were fairly good, a clear though dull light and a breeze which did not vary much made it easier shooting for some Ilian usual, though at one part of the afternoon the breeze was fish (ailing, and spoiled a few scores. Three ties were, decided at the close of the day’s shoot. Three competitors had to shoot for two places in the first competition, two for third in the Cooke Cup match, and two for third place in n club match. J. H. Frazer seemed second and W. Carson third in the first, competition; F. Carson beat J. Kyle in the Cooke Cup match tic, and .1. Mackie defeated J. H. Frazer for the club match. J. H. Frazer is still leading for the championship with 491, W. Carson. 483 and F. Carson 476 being his nearest attendants. For the Lee Cup, with five shools gone, Ihc positions of the leaders are ns follow; —J. H. Frazer 519, W. Carson 310, R. Kitto 309 F. Carson, G. Frazer, and W. Oliver each 508, with several oihors close up. Following are the leading scores in Saturday’s shoot (conditions seven shots at 500 ■and 600 yards and a possible limit of 65);
