The secretary of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association announced tonight that the Frenchmen are to play a match against New Zealand on the Wellington Association’s grounds at Miramar under Davis Cup conditions, two singles to he played on the first day and two singles and the double on the second day. The New Zealand Association is endeavoring to arrange for an exhibition single to ho played on the first day by the third member of tho French team. Preparations are well in hand for the erection of adequate stands round the court,, which is being Specially prepared. Sub-committees have been set up to select the New Zealand team and to make the necessary arrangements for the match.

Purdy led from the commencement, and severely punished the Filipino, flooring him in the second round.
