BOWLING

THE ADESS SHIELD KATTUNA WINS SEMI-FINAL. > The Adess Shield competition was continued on the Dunedin green on Saturday. The green was in good condition, though a trifle on the heavy side. A large crowd of enthusiastic onlookers followed the play with interest. The only match played in the morning was that between Caledonian, and Fairfield, this game resulting in a win for the town team by a big margin As the Caledonian men had to participate in the four rink championship in the afternoon, it was necessary for this club’s game against TaiSTi to be held over. The games played in the afternoon resulted in wins for Kaituna against Otago, for Anderson’s Bay against St. Kildn, and for Taieri against North-east Valley. Kaituna met Anderson’s Bay in the semi-final and secured another win, thus qualifying for the final, in which they will meet the winner of the Caledonian and Taieri match.
