SMALL BOY’S DEATH. "William Gibbs, a boy aged five years, who was knocked down by a motor car wliilo playing on a road at Invercargill on Wednesday, died in the hospital yesterday. INFANT I)IiOWNED IN RIVER. Clarice Margaret Taylforth, aged two years and two months, the, youngest child of Mr 11. Tayjforth, of Fcrnriclgo (near Mnstcrton), wandered from homo yesterday morning, and was later found drowned in a pool 3ffc deep in the AVaingawa Diver. HON, WITTY INJURED. The Hon. George Witty, M.L.C., was struck on Wednesday by a piece of timber which fell from a windmill, lacerating his forehead, bruising his arms and chest. Mr _ Witty is not seriously injured, hut will have trt rest for some days’.—Christchurch Press Association telegram.
