The newspapers are drawing attention to the Imperial Conference, lor which the arrangements arc well advanced. The ‘ Morning Post,’ reviewing the topics to he discussed, lays stress on the fart that Mr Bruce has announced that ho will press for greater preference for Empire products. Regarding migration, it savs there is a growing desire that the Empire Settlement Act should he amended, especially in the direction of the preliminary training and testing of intending emigrants. It is recognised, however, that' tho ■conference as. a preliminary must review all the circumstances which led to the partial failure of the joint policy of the home and dominion Governments as expressed by that Act, Tho ‘ Daily 'Telegraph’s ’ diplomatic correspondent montions_ that Mr Bruce may travel via the United States and possibly Canada... —A. and N.Z. Gable. NAVAL REVIEW. LONDON, Abgnst 10. The ‘ Daily Mail ’ says that a naval review is being arranged for tho benefit of the dominion statesmen in October, similar to that hold in 1923. Though it is not intended to approach tho grand scale of tho review of 1914 it. is hoped that a substantial number of ships will be included in the manccuvros. —Sydney ‘ Sun ’ Cable.
