CLERK'S DEFALCATIONS
GOVERNMENT MONEYS [Pbe United Pbess Association.] MARTON, August 12. Leslie Faithful Henry, a clerk in the Magistrate’s Court, Marten, pleaded guilty before justices to failing to account for Government moneys amounting to £l4B, and was committed to the Supreme Court at Wanganui for sentence. Bail was allowed. Accused is 22 years old, married, and came here in January. The evidence showed that various sums had been taken during the period January-July.
