CHURCH RALLY MONTH

In connection with the church rally month campaign, special efforts are being put forth by the various branches of the Christian Church to reach those who, lor some reasons, have fallen into the habit of irregular attendance at church on the Lord’s Day. Iho reports received indicate that a_ considerable number accepted the invitation of the Council of Cliristiau Congregations and the Dunedin Presbytery, with the result that last Sunday witnessed a marked improvement in church attendance in the city, as well as in the suburbs. It is hoped that to-morrow an oven larger number will attend both the morning and the evening services. Whilst it is true that there is a fair amount of neglect of the duty and the privilege of church attendance, yet experience proves that there is very little real hostility to the church. Unfortunately it .sometimes happens that, having removed from one district, people fail to become attached to the church where they settle, feeling themselves to bo strangers in a -strange place. It is therefore fitting that the church should put forth special efforts to roach the non-churcligocrs and make them feel that it is interested in their ■highest well-being.
