(Received October 3, at 11.5 a.m.) The Government Statistician reports that the total area of sown wheat for the current season is 3,686,000 acres, of which 3,327,000 will be harvested and the remainder cut for hay. The figures represent a decrease in the area sown of 262,000 acres, or 6.6 per cent., as compared with the previous year. The Kea to be harvested is 216,000 acres ns than in 1924.
