COMPLAINT BY TOURIST
CHARGE AGAINST CONSUL A MEDICAL EXAMINATION. LONDON, August 16. A Sydney resident now touring Scotland entered the American Consul’s office at Glasgow and asked him to vise his passport for a lour of America. Ife was amazed when the official ordered him to strip for medical examination in the presence of n number of Scottish emigrants. Ho protested that he was a tourist, but still had to comply. The American Consul-General’s, office in London is inquiring into the complaint. It is declared that this is the first complaint received under the new system of examination at British ports instead of at Ellis Island, If the statement was true, it was stated, it was duo to a mistake.
