Mr John M'Grath left this morning for Auckland. Archdeacon Woodthorpe went to Oamaru to-day to take to-mororw’s services for Archdeacon Russell, who is not very well. Mr L. E. Johnson, private secretary to the Hon. W. Dowmo Stewart, went by tho second express to-day, and will be in Wellington the best part of next week.

Mr Ralph Higel, of a pianofortemaking firm in Toronto, has just concluded his tour of New Zealand, and left Dunedin this morning to go to Australia., from whence ho proceeds to China and Japan. Mr James M. Wills, of the .Alliance Insurance Company, started this morning for a visit to the Auckland district. Mr W. A. Moore travelled north by tho second express to-day, intending to make a short business visit to Sydney.

The Rev. A. L. Canter, who is at present in temporary charge of the Anglican parish of Arrowtown, has been appointed to tho cure of Tapanui.
