VICE-CONSUL SHOT
A SERBIAN SENSATION. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright BELGRADE, December 7. (Received December 8, at 9.30 a.m.) Mr Harry Dayton (American Vice-Con-sul) staggered ‘into the Consulate and stated that lie had been shot by a Lithuanian girl. His condition is most serious. The girl was afterwards found dead at the Vice-Consul’s residence. She had apparently committed suicide.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
