M‘CLEARY-M‘QUAERIE CONTEST. DECLARED VOID BY ASSOCIA■TION. [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. At a meeting of the New Zealand Boxing Council to-night the appeal of Brian M‘Oleary in regard to the decision in his contest at Dunedin with Paul M'Quarrie (Bluff) was considered. It was decided that on consideration of all the circumstances as submitted, the council resolves that the M‘ClearyM'Quarrie contest he declared void. It was further resolved that the purse be equally divided. Mr E. A. Dawson was appointed manager of the team for the Australasian championships. An appeal Avas lodged by B. Facoory against his suspension by the Wanganui Boxing Association, and it was decided to ask that body to supply the council Avith the evidence on which it based its decision. M‘CLEARY AND CADMAN. [Special to the ‘Star.’] CHRISTCHURCH, August 19. At the meeting of the Christchurch Sports Club Major Roav moved that a sum of £ls be alloAved M'CTeary fox expenses in connection Avith the M‘Cleary-Cadman fight. Mr Hutchison Avas of opinion that if M‘Cleary was entitled to expenses, so also AA'as Cadmau, avlio had come all the way from Auckland to fulfil his engagement. The motion was carried. Major Roav stated that the Barracks would not be available in race Aveek in November. Whittaker Avas Availing to meet M'Cloary on September 2, tho purse and expenses to amount to not over £2OO. He stated, too, that the Competition Committee A\as endeavoring to arrange for the return match between Cadmau and M'Cleary on September 23.
