BRITAIN'S EMBARGO. Press Association—o3y Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 27. The House of Lords debated a- motion, by Viscount Chaplin in regard to the Government’s refusal to remove the cmoargo on Canadian cattle and' the Marquis of Lincolnshire’s amendment declaring it incumbent upon the Government to honor the pledge given to Canada. Viscount Long moved a further amendment in favor of the admission of store cattle from any dominion, subject to quarantining regulations. Viscount Long said he had every reason to believe that Canada would accept this proposal as carrying out the pledge previously- given. The Board of Agriculture must determine the period of quarantine. The Marquis of Lincolnshire’s amendment was rejected by 91 votes to 63, and Viscount Long’s amendment was accepted without a division.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
