Five candidates were nominated' for tihe vacancy in tho Port Chalmers Boroogb. Council, caused by the recent resignation of Or I). M‘Dceia!d. The candidates are: Irvine Clark labistor, Richard Leftwich, William Love, sen., Lincoln 0. Newton, and Frederick C. Smith. An election wilj be held next Wednesday.
