Thera warn good supplies of sheep and lambs offered at the Burnside eahso to-day. There was good competition, and; practically all disposals war© Bt enhanced values. Fat cattlo were in over-supply, and competition was not very brick. It was expected that, in consequence of the largo supply, lower prices Would rule before the close of the sale. . Sheep.—A good- yarding,, numbering 2,790 head. Thera was a decided improvement In the quality, ns compared with last week's offering. There was a good! demand for all classes, and values advanced from le to Is 6di per bead above last week's rates, Extra prime, heavyweight wethers realised) from 28s to 60s fidSj prime,24sto27sj medium, 19s to 235: lighter kinds from 16s 6d upwards. Prime ewes realised) from 18s to 20a 3d; medium, 15s to Tfflii light and aged from 11s upwards.
Lambs. —A large yarding, numbering 1,323 head, of good' quality. The oil mug met with a good 1 demand at improved rates to the extent of about ha per bead. Prices ranged from 16a to 25s 9d per head. This represents a basis of about 6f;d per lb. Pat Cattle.—A largo yarding, numbering 265 head, of fair quality. At tho commencement of tho sale prices wore on a par with late rates, bat it waa expected that tho demand! would slacken towards the end of tho sale. At the time of going to press prime bullocks realised from £lO to £ll 17s 6d; medium, £8 to £9 10s; lighter kinds from £ls 10s upwards. Prime heifers realised from £7 6s to £8 ss; medium, £6 to £7; light and aged from £4 10s upwards. Store Guttle. —A full yarding was offered. The quality generally was an improvement on that of last week’s yarding. There was a slightly better demand at improved prices for half-fat cows ; but the market tor backward steers is very slack. A lino of good forward steers chowing breeding attracted attention, and these realised up to £5 16s pa 1 head Pigs,—A small yarding was offered, which was disposed of under keen competition. Brices were a shade firmer than those which ruled at last week’s Bales. Best baconere realised from 7d to 7|d per lb, and best porkers from Bid) in 9d per lb.
