FIRE AT ELTHAM

ELTHAM, March 22,
A fire occurred last night in a twostory building owned by Mr G. W. Taylor and occupied by Mr G. Dempsey, of the vulcanising depot. Tbo origin of the fire is unknown. Inflammable materials in the vulcanising depot burnt _wry rapidly, but smart work by the brigade prevented total destruction of the building. Insurances : £4OO on tho building in° the Royal. Mr Dempsey’s policy of £BOO in the Taranaki Farmers 1 Mutual expired on' Monday last.
