DECREE FROM ROME
WARNING TO .THE FAITHFUL. Y.M.C.A. DANGEROUS. >*TBM Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. ROME, December 23. The Young Men’s Christian Association has. been attacked in a decree issued by the Holy Office asking bishops to .watch organisations which, while professing absolute freedom of thought in religious matters, instil indifference and apostacy to the Catholic religion in the minds of adherents. The decree mentions the Y.M.C.A., which, it states, is upheld by many Catholics, who are ignorant of its real nature, and declares that it corrupts the faith of youths. The decree recalls a canon law which forbids papers and periodicals of organisations favoring religious rationalism, and requests bishops to communicate to the Holy See, within two months, any cecisions taken at the regional congresses on the subject.—Reuter.
