Messrs Donald lieid and Company, Limited, report : —Owing to Monday being Dominion Day no sale was held, but we quote current prices for produco as under :

Oats.—There has been a bettor demand during the week, and the market shows a firming tendency. A fairly large quantity has been shipped to and a further fair-sized quantity is to be shipped this week. To-day's prices are : Milling, 4s 3d ; good to best feed, 4s Id to 4s 2d ; inferior to medium, 3s 6cl to 3s 10U per bushel, sacks extraWheat.—There is none coming forward, and this will hold until the railway restrictions are lifted next Monday. Mcanwhilo millers hold fair stocks and are not buying anything exeopt volvet, Fowl wheat is scarce.

Potatoes.—The market is easier, local buyers anticipating a lower market. A few con.sig,nments are corning forward, principally from the north. Only good I freshly-picked potatoes are in demand, and these we quote at £9 10s to £lO. ' Chaff.—'Consignments have fallen olf, but stocks in store are more than equal to requirements, and the market is a trifle easier. The demand is for choice quality, .medium and inferior being hard to qui't. We quote : Choice, £-6 10s to £6 15s; good, £5 15s to £6; medium, £4 lfts to £5 5s per ton, bags extra. j Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report ' as follows : I Oats.—A better tone prevails, there being more inquiry of late for all grades. Offerings have not been heavy, all coining forward being readily placed at quotations. Wo quote : Prime milling, 4s 3d ; good to best feed, 4s Id to 4a 2d; medium to good, 3s 6d to 4s; inferior from 3s 3d per bushel (sacks extra). ' Wheat.—Very little milling wheat has been offering of late. Millers have stocks of Tuscan, but velvet is wanted. Fowl wheat is scarce, and readily quitted on arrival at full rates. Potatoes.—Supplies continue to arrive freely from the north. The demand i 3 not so strong, and sales can only be effected at a reduction in late prices. Choice, freshly-picked lines of Lp _to Dates is tho only description asked for, medium and faulty lines 'being neglected. Wo quote : Best freshly-picked tables, £9 10s to £10; medium qualify, £3 to £9 per ton (sacks in). Chaff. —The quantity arriving is fully up to requirements, which are not Local feeders, having supplios on hand, are not ready buyers. Tne only class oi chaff in demand is bright, heavy oaten sheaf, for which late rates are barely maintained. Medium quality and light lines are quite out of favor and difficult to quit on arrival. We quote : Best oaten sheaf, £6 10s to £G 15s; fair to good, £5 10s to £6; medium from £4 10s per ton | (aaoks extra). |
