Tlie Rise and Shine No. 1 dredgo had a run until Thursday nijjiht, whim tho boiler was blown down for inspection. The dredge is opening out at a depth of 44it on a fairly good-looking wash carrying “ Maoris ” and black sand. No. 2 dredgo had also to stop on' Thursday night for boiler inspection, but resumed work'on Eriday night. The ground has a bottom of blue clap and sandstone, with a little coal, and gives fair prospects in the centre of the cut.
