(Received 1 March 17, at 8.45 a.m.) Mr Bernard Naumburg, a New York lawyer, has been appointed by the Supreme Court to ascertain whether the ex-Taar is dead. Mr Naumburg holds a judgment against the ex-Tsar for over £20,000 for delivery of sugar to Russia on the ex-Tsar’s orders before the latter’s downfall. The ex-Tsar had £200,000 on deposit at the National City Bank in New York, but the bank will not pay out of this the amount of tho judgment till it is proved that the ex-Tsar is dead.
