KING’S. A story based on Rider Haggard’s popular novel ‘ Jess, 1 entitled ‘ Heart and "'oml,’ j? loading this week’s bill at the King’s. Tho action of this picture takes place in 1 tie Philippine Islands amongst gorgeous tropical ecencry, and the six reels are full of thrilling incidents and sweet romance. Other attractions on the programme a-ro ‘ Winning a Husband ’ (comedy), 'French Army Horses’ (interest), 'Cultivation of Coffee’ (industrial), and ‘Palace of Fontainbleau ’ (scenic). OCTAGON AND KING EDWARD. The stellar item on the programme at the Octagon and King Edward Theatres is a powerful society drama ‘By Right of Purchase.’ Tho play is of considerable merit, and the story is clean and wholesome. Tho situations, which are novel, make un a thrilling romance. Norma Tdmadgo is tint star- A. good supporting list is also provided. EMPIRE. ‘To Hell With the Kaiser,’ a, sevenreel patriotic production, is the lig picture at the Empire. In this startling screen the soul of the Kai«er is stripped bare, and shows tho plot by which Im and his officers hoped to control the world, Tho bntte-. scones are -wonderful, and :ho aerial flight scene most realistic. Tho supporting subjects arc excellent. QUEEN’S. Tha double-star programme at the Queen’s is proving a popular draw-. ' Her Decision ’ is tho chief feature-, and is the, story of a girl who, in order to screen her young sister, marries for money. A Charlie Chaplin comedy entitled ‘ Shanghaied ’ is tho se.cond item, and, as usual, is full of uproarious humor. Episode No. 19 of ‘ Tho Fatal Ring ’ is shown in support. PLAZA. The programme nt tho Plaza this week has as its" lending attraction a powerful drama, ‘ Betrayed,’ with Miriam Cooper in the load. ‘ The Heart of Romance ’ (Juno Caprice) is also included in the offering. EVERYBODY’S. There is much more, serious dement in Madge Kennedy’s latest Goldwyn picture ‘ The Danger Game ’ than in her previous dramas, and this is probably the reason for it having a. much more gripping quality. - It la now showing at Everybody’s. A Chaplin comedy and a number of 'supporting subjects complete a fine programme. ,
