OTAGO YACHT AND MOTOR BOAT CLUB
The above club’s cruising races for yachts and motor boats to Broad Bay was hell on Saturday. Tho day was ideal, a good full sail north-east breeze blowing. Tho following yachts faced the starting ine :—Matun, Shadow, Minnow, Tucana, Waimana, Myro, Miti, and May. The Minnow, May, and Shadow got away to time. The Matua was four minutes late crossing the starting line, and was followed bv the Tucana, Waimana, Myro, and Miti a hnv minutes later. The finish at Broad Bay was watched by a large number of the Broad Bay residents. The motor boat race provided an excellent start. Eureka timed the gun bcautiful’y, and secured a splendid start, and was closely followed bv the other launches. The Waterwitch broke down, <ond the Matarua did not start Messrs D. Paterson and A. E. Dawson acted as starters; and Commodore A. C. Hanlon, E. Davys, T. Burt, and H. S. Nees acted as the officials at Broad Bay. The following are tho results : YACHT RACE.
