OBITUARY
Mr Thomas Fitzpatrick, who died at his residence, Atkinson street. Dunedin, last week, was born in County Cork He came to Dunedin when 20 years of ape, and was for a time employed on the railways. He then joined the Permanent Artillery, and retired about four years ago, having served just on 34 years without a mark against his name. The deceased was a quiet, unassuming man, and was highly respected by zi.il who knew him. Be leaves a widow, daughter, and two sons— David (who is still on active service) andJack (who returned to Dunedin last night after serving four years at the. front). Another son (Thomas) died at Trentham last November. Private advice has been received of the death in England of Mr Edward Lauri, May Beatty’s husband. The deceased visited Dunedin four times. He first came hero in 1902 with G. Musgrove’s company in ‘ A Chinese Honeymoon ’ and ‘Thirty Thieves.’ His other visits were: 1903, Musgrove’s company in ‘ The For-tune-teller,’ ‘Tire Serenade,’ ‘Fra Diavolo,’ and ‘ Daughter of the Regiment ’ ; G. Stephenson’s company in ‘ Rose of Riviera,’ ‘ Skirt Dancer,’ ‘ Dandy Doctor ’ ; 1905, G. Stephenson’s company in ‘ Bill Adams,’ ‘ Skirt Dancer,’ and Rose of Riviera-’
