Mr Jo* Abomcthv presided over the monthly meeting of the Albany Street School "Committee, 'there were also present Messrs J. H. Wilkinson, \\ . J. lvna, W R. Smith, A. Dempster, W. J. Houston Jas. Sinton. and J. Main. Die heac. meter's report showed the roll number to be 653, wfth an average attendance tor February of 624. The report on the health of the chi'dren attending the schorn was excellent. At the autumn show of the Dirnedin Horticultural Sonetv the schooi gained first prize for an exhibit of flowers iuid vegetables, the latter having all been m-own in the school garden. Mr \V. hj. VbcTs resignation as first assistant was received hv'the committee with regret, and the secretary was instructed to convey to Mr their hearty congratulations on his appointment to the position of head master of the Oarnaru North School: also to convey to Miss M. T. Scott thoucongratulations on lier Appointment to the position of fifth assistant in the Forbury School. The head -naster referred to the enthusiasm displayed by the pupils and parents in connection with the combined schools concert to Be held to-night. Thi* will be the first appearance of the 1919 school band. Messrs Wilkinson and Dempster were appointed visitors for Mavch.
