STRIKE AT MEAT WORKS

WAIRDAj March 13. The chamber bands, numbering 88, a* the Wairoa Meat Works struck -lost night for an increase of wages. The men ask for 2s an -hour, and ateo that 5 per cent, be added to the total wages. A conference with the manager failed to reach an agreement. The office staff worked last night, and slaughtering is proceeding.
