ST. MARTIN’S. Probably one of the most artistic bazaars—or .Spring Fair, as it is called—from a decorative point of view is that of the ladies of St. Martin’s, North-east Valley, which is to be opened by Cr Green in the Town Hall this evening. The bazaar attracts at the first glance. Besides being ■ artistic, the stalls arc heavily laden with goods of various descriptions, which should find many ready purchasers. The proceeds will, as usual, be devoted to the church funds. The following are the stallholders:— Fancy Stall,—Mesdames Tyrell, Grant, Misses Tattersfield, Tyrell, and" Bolton. Lollies.—Mesdames Hunt, Jcffooate, Steadman, mid Miss Bind., Produce.—-Mesdames Wilson. Budd, and Hail._ G.E.M.S.—Messrs Lcnz, Bolton, and Rule. Soft Drinks.—Messrs 13. and T. Steele. Girls’ Friendly Society.—Mrs Hancock, Misses Harvey and Ingram. Refreshments.—Mesdames Howlison, Pogson, Johnstone, Misses Keys (two). Christmas Tree.—Mesdames Gillies, Hall, iMisses Egley, Clements, and Wilson (two). Ice Cream.—Miss Roberts. The bazaar will be a three-days’ affair, but should provide as many attractions on the last evening as on the first. To-night an entertainment will be provided under the direction of Mr C. H. Russell. HOLY CROSS CHAPEL. The annual bazaar and sale of work promoted by the Ladies’ Guild of the Holy Cross Chapel, St. Hilda, will be opened in the Coronation Hall this evening by Mr W. T. MTarlane, Mayor of St. Hilda. The. proceeds of the sale will bo devoted towards the building fund, and for this object the Indies who organised tho sale have gone to a good deal of trouble, the abundance of enticing and attractive articles on tho various stalls attesting to their industry and enthusiasm. There will be competitions for naildriving, bed-making, and hat-trimming, and all the other features of au up-to-date bazaar. The bazaar will be continued till Thursday, and each evening a concert programme, including recitations, songs, -and dancing, should add considerably to the enjoyment of those present.
