Hearne captured six wickets (mostly by googlies) for 17 runs, including the hat trick. (Received July 29, at 10 a.ra.) Tarrant, the Australian - Middlesex cricketer, scored 163 against Essex. Playing Warwickshire against Yorkshire at Harrogate, F. R. Foster (a member of the M.C.C. team about to visit Australia) made 60 and 101.
