E S. Orbell) to the members of the Racing t Commission when they inspected the - course on March 21. A meeting of the I executive of the club was held yesterday s to consider plans and specifications sub- - mitted by their engineer, Mr F. J. Wil- - Hams. The plans showed that an excepa tionally good level course over a mile in i length could be obtained on the site of t the present course, and adjacent to a a natural terrace, which would form a splene did grand stand. The executive adopted y the plan of the suggested improvements, j- at an expenditure of some *7OO. The a members claim that when this work is completed they will have one of the best ■_ country courses in Otago. Tenders will i- shortly be called for the work, and it is e hoped to have it finished in time for the club’s annual fixture at the New Year. It Corazon’s win in the July Steeple- ’ chase at Trentham on Saturday incurs . s a 71b penalty for the Grand ‘National le Steeplechase, bringing his weight up to „ 12.3 in that event. ‘ n R.
