AND PERSONALITIES. [Special to the Stab.) AUCKLAND, May 24. Speaking at the Farmers' Union dinner, the Hon. Thos. Mackenzie said that the prc-vioiLs speakers had referred to the evil of rally politics. There was 100 much talk of party. The fanning community needed to sindy the great economical questions that affected the success of the community—matters that- were 100 of en lost right of. He had always interested himself in such things rather than in politkal tirades against personal opinions. They had to deal with the present and th« future, and leave the past alone. Even effort should be made to build up a par liamcntary body, but he reminded thfarmers that personal criticisms, whicl were often flung about, would keep many an admirable but sensitive man from the ranks of the workers for the State, and bring into existence just such a class a• they did not wan*-
