In submitting tho first annual report tho Committee " feel that tho club ato to bo congratulated on tho first year's work. Though it. was anticipated that we would havo been in a position lo enter two teams, we regret that the actual membership at the commencement of the season did not permit of this. It should, however, have enabled us to keep a full team in throughout the season, but removal from tho district and other causes materially decreased the membership during tb-3 year, and by the end of the season on more than ono occasion some difficulty was experienced in placing a full team in tho field. Wo sustained a rather severe loss by the removal of Mr ■W. Taylor, our deputy-captain, to Timaru. ITe, however, wo aro glad to note, has followed up the game there, achieving no little success. The recoid of our team cannot be considered otherwise than very satisfactory, especially when it is remembered that it was tho club's first year, and very few of our members had played the game before. Of tho eleven games played in tho competition, wo were successful in winning six, th is securing 12 points. Tho goals scored for the club numbered 43, and against, us 49, and wo secured fourth placo among the ten teams competing in the second grade competition. The bal-ance-sheet discloses a small debit balance." The following crows have been selected to row for prizes presented by Mr P.
