THE WEATHER
The Government Meteorologist wires: Strong northerly gale: unsettled weather; rain probable; glass fall; tide's moderate; sea moderate swell; storm area approaching from westward. Kain is jnuch needed in South Canterbury. Tho country is very dry, with no growth in feed. The recent rainfall in the south did not reach so far as here, except in ineffectual drizzles.
