METHODISTS' CONFERENCE
The annual Conference nf the Methodist Church was continued.at Christchurch yesterday. The Revs. & J. C!ie*on and 11. A. G. Keck were given permission to be transferred to Australia, and the Rev. W. A. Hay (from Western Austiana) and J. VV. Burton (from Fiji) were received. The Rev. S. Lawry was unanhnou.My elected to succeed the Rev. H. Hull in the office of counoxional secretary. A special committee was appointed to deal with matters affecting the Dunedin Central Mission.
The annual report on church -nd parsonage properties showed that during thcyear one leasehold and fifteen freehold suites had been acquired, eight new diureiics, two halls, and threo parsonages had been ereqted. rive churches, one parsonage, and two Sunday schools had been enlarged, while one pipe organ had been installed The total increase in the value of church, property during the year was £15,088. The total value of properties amounts to £426,637 12s 7d.— The report was adopted.
The report and balance-sheet of the, church building and loan fund showed that the loans granted during the year amounted to £2,036, while repayments nv trustees amounted to £2,532 10s.
