As a result of the Navy debate, contracts will bo hastened for the construction of four cruisers of the Bristol class and six torpedo-boat destroyers of the River class. Oil fuel will bo used for both. The completion of the naval programme will cost £2,000,000. The 'Montreal Gazette' says that Sir Wilfrid Laurier will probably resign in the autumn, and subsequently tour Quebec, Ontario, and other provinces on the Navy question.
