King Edward has arrived n.L Biarritz (France). Mr John Prior, the oldest roliutor in FeiMing, rccoived a presentation from the Feilding Law Society prior to a visit to the Old Country.—Press Association. Mr W. B. Steel, for some years manager of the British and Colonial Waterproof Company, is leaving Dunedin this month for Auckland, having been appointed to take charge of Mr L. Morris's branch factory in that city. Mr Steel has been a very active and wise member of the Forbury School Committee, and at last night's meeting that Committee warmly acknowledged his services.

Mr Edward Roberts, M.1.M.E., who is one of the Commissioners appointed to inquire into the state of things at Addington, left for Ghristchurch this afternoon. The inquiry starts to-morrow. iliss Dormer, of the Benevolent Institution, Caversham, has been appointed matron of the North Otago Home. Mr T. W. Kirk, chief of the Biological Department, arrived from the South at 1.5 p.m. to-day.
