GISBOENE, March 9. In the Supreme Court Victor Munn was sentenced to twelve months for forgery.

AUCKLAND, March 9. As the result of a private inquiry, the CkimuuSee of the Cqstley Home recommended that the manager be roprimandorl for having' used intemperate language to the inmates, and that he be informed that while the Board have ho objection to members of the staff training for races on the grounds, care should be taken that thus does not interfere with their duties, and that no special diet should be allowed. TIMABU, Marcli 9. Last evening a motor garage in Stafford street, owned by Messrs Nalder" and Burnett, was destroyed by fire. Besides the stock two motor cars, valued at £6OO, were burnt. The building was owned by Mr M. O'Meegan. Tho burnt portion was insured for £4OO in the Royal. One Siddeley car was insured for £6OO in tho Royal, and one Stuart car for £3OO. The stock and plant were insured for £4OO in the National. The tonneau of a Siddeley car owned by Mr' T. B. Garrick was uninsured.
