Sir Edward Clarke, the eminent King’s Counsel, addressing the Empire Club, Toronto, protested against any proposal to limit appeals to the Privy Council. He declared that the latter had in many instances saved the courts of the colonies from perpetrating great wrongs. - APPEAL REFUSED. LONDON. Alarch 5. The Privy Council refused leave to appeal in the case of New South Wales versus the Commonwealth, relating to the retiring annuity to be granted to officials. This appeal by tffo State Government against the High Court’s decision of Mav 9 last. J
