BURNSIDE STOCK SALES.

To-day. As is usual during New Year week, small yardings of cattle, sheep, and pigs were forward to-day. Not many buyers wne present, and little business was done. Butchers, as a rule, get in their New Year supply at the Christmas sale. Sheep.—923 yarded. A mo Hum quantity forward. Prices were firmer. Quotations : Best wethers, 17s 6d to 19s; extra, 235; medium, 15s to 16s; inferior, 13s 6d tj 14s: best ewes, 15s to 16s; extra, 19s; medium, 12s 6d to 13s 6d. Lambs.—469 yarded. On account of the .•wall yarding prices were firmer The quality was go>J. Quotations: Best lambs, 15s to 16-1; extra, 17s; medium, 13s 6d to 14s 6d; inferior, 12s to 12s 9d. Cattle.—lsl yarded. A fair yarding of medium quality. Pricis were again slightly easier. Quotations.
