Peru and King’s Cross occupied Slsec. Alawa and Jack Smith, in company, took 52isoc, as did Pendil and Lady Diffidence. Dyed Garments ran a mile m Imin 55sec. PIPERS AND DANCERS. INVERCARGILL, October 26. At the meeting of the Orepuki Athletic Society it was unanimously resolved that the society resent the action of the pipers and Dancers’ Association Mn usurping the functions of the New Zealand Athletic Union, and that the society refuse to recocmse the authority of the Pipers and Dancers’ Association. CHRISTCHURCH, October 26. ,A strong branch of the Pipers and Dancers Association of New Zealand was formed on, Saturday evening. The meeting was held in the Scottish Society’s Hall, and thirty-four members were enrolled. A strong Executive was’ sat un. formed largely of local pipers and dancers! A Wellington P.A. wire , states that Mr Duncans Kilrheran, of the Waikanae stud, was killed this morning. The stsl hon was insured for £SOO, but that amount aoes not nearly represent his vaiue.
