SPORTING INTELLIGENCE.
LAWN TENNIS. At Thursday’s meeting of the Otago Association the Selection Committee were authorised to choose players to practise with a view to being chosen to represent Otago in the forthcomug match against Canterbury. The following have been selected, umd the team of six . men required will be chosen from them:—R. S. Brown, S. N. Brown, J. S. Sinclair, IT. W. Bundle, C. J. Braithwaite, A. E. Haimway, R. Bauchop, W. Bray, G Gower, and P. Soelye. The Committee wish to impress on the above players the urgent necessity for at once obtaining the.beet practice possible and to spare no pains in getting into first-class form. CRICKET. ' Last night the Otago Cricket Association decided to have three selectors instead of a sole selector, and appointed as. such Messrs J. Baker, J. Hope, and W. Mackersy. The opening of the cricket season, fixed for to-day, was postponed owing to the bad weather.
