On the last trip of the steamer Kaipiati to Pntea she struck a snbrne-jed object and sprang a leak. She comole: e-1 her voyage, and returned to Wellington soon after midnight, when it was discovered that she was leaking to such an extent that she had to be beached at Pipitea Point in the harbor.
