NEWCASTLE CRIMPING
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, August 23. An affidavit by Thomas Ball, formerly an 1 officer on a number of vessels, has been submitted to the Arbitration Court. In the affidavit Mr Ball detailed specific instances of crimping at Newcastle within the past twelve years, and some within the last twelve months. The affidavit sets forth the amounts paid to the “runners” as blood money.
