THE ENGLISH EDUCATION BILL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I see by to-day's telegrams that the above Bill has finally passed the House of Commons, "schedules and all." Now, all through the discussion I have regularly sought for a definite author'.tative answer to the question " What is simple Bible teaching?" and I have not been able to find one—not even in the ' British Weekly.' You will remember that in our controversy a few years ago we made incessant demands tc know what the Bible-in-schools party really and definitely wanted. " What was simple Bible teaching?" And the answers were as numerous and varied as the lettrs of the alphabet; while, as regards the leaders, their M numerous and varied as Hie letters of the chameleon. Can you, Mr Editor, kindly rive us an account at some early date of the English solution of this knotty problem?— I am, etc., J. T. Hlnton. July 20.
