WELLINGTON, March 16. A murderous assault was made upon Mr Samuel Gilmer, licensee of the Royal Oak. A rougb-and l tumble ensued, and eventually Waddell was overpowered and arrested. * Gilmer *was cut on the hand and face with the chisel.
