CITY POLICE COURT. (Before C. C. Graham, Esq,, S.M.) Drunkenness.—-Walter Mathoson was fined 10s, with the usual option. Alleged Breaking and Entering.—Joseph Michael Davidson was charged wrth having on January 7 last broken and entered the dwelling of John R. Wilson at Wakari, and stolen therefrom the sum of 5s lid.—Chief - detective Herbert asked for a remand to Monday, in order that fingcr-piint evidence might be brought.—Mr Crisp, for defendant, agreed, and the remand was granted. Prohibition Older.—An order, to apply to Dunedin, Caversham. Chalmers, and Bruce, was granted against- a man on hia wife’s application. Alleged Embezzlement.—The charges against Alfred Walker Pearson of having failed to account for three separate sums of money which he should have accounted for, was further remanded to Tuesday next on tiie application of Mr Macassey. Attempted Suicide.—Catherine Jeffreys, of Rams Island, Lake Waiiolo, pleaded guilty to a, charge of having attempted to bake her life.—Medical testimony was put in to the effect that accused was suffering at the time of the offence from the effects of influenza, which probably provoked the act. —Accused, who said she remembered nothing about it, was discharged with a cautkm, and ordered to pay costs (£1 7s).
