FIRE AT GREYTOWN.
CARTERTON, March 16. A fire at- Greytown destroyed the Palace HaU and two other buildings. The Fire Brigade were soon on the scene, but the water rave out. The two front rooms in the hall were used by a photographer and tobacconist.. Insurances; On the shops—£2oo each; on the hail—£4oo, in the New Zealand Office. The. volunteers, who used the hall as a ctriH shed, lost a quantity of arms and ammunition, which were insured to the amount of £100; and their loss is £SO above that amount. The insurances on the adjoining shop axe not stated.
