ATTEMPTED MURDER.
Georg© Kassert, aged nineteen years, was arrested at Auckland last 'night on a charge of the attempted murder of his father, Charles Hassell, an Imperial and old age pensioner, seventy-five years of age. It is alleged that during a quarrel between Bassett and his wife the son rushed into the room and discharged a pistol at his father. The bullet entered the side of the head, just below the temple, and the father is now in the hospital. His condition is uncertain. - AUCKLAND, March 16. George Hassett was remanded for a week on a charge of attempting to murder his father Charles. The pistol used was a toy one. Die bullet will probably be extracted without serious consequences ensuing.
