INTER-UNIVERSITY TENNIS TOURNAMENT.

The tennis tournament was continued si Kaituna this morning. Up till 9.45 onh on* court -was available, the other two being rather wet, but by 10.30 all three -werem use. In the final for the Ladies' S&gles Misses Batham and Baldwin put up a verv interesting game, the former's driving being very strong and accurate. In the find round of the Men's Sinsles, Brown and Riee played very evenly, a" feature of the play being the excellent voßying of both. The Press have to thank Mr Miller (secretary) for his courtesy in affording every facility to the Press representatives. The details are as follows: LADIES' SINGLES (Advantage Sets). One set 9 up. Finals Miss Batham (Vic. CoE.) beat Miss Baldwin (C.C), 9—6. MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES. Present champion, Rice (C.C). Final Round (Advantage Sets). Rice (C.C.) beat Brown (Otago), 7—5, 3—6, 6—4. MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES Best of 3 sets. Present champions. Rice and Cox (C.C). Second Round. Rice and Stowe (CC) beat Wyman and Hull (Auckland), 6—2, 6—l. Prouse and Prouse (V.C) beat Borrie and Friedlander (Otago), 6—4, 6—4. COMBINED CHAMPIONSHIP DOUBLES. . Present champions, Miss Gorrie and Coates. First Round. Miss Ward and Bundle (Otago) beat Miss Griffin and Taylor (C.C), 6—3, 6—l. After the luncheon adjournment it was decided to abandon further play till tomorrow morning
