The Customs revenue received to-dav •mounted to £2,434 16s lOd.
At Belper (England) on September 12 the police arrested a Mr Francis Nally. The latter was a “passive resistor,’’ and there being no property on which to distrain for the non-payment of his school rate (5s 4d), Nally ’chose to suffer the alternative, twenty-eight days’ imprisonment, rather than pay. Mr Nally i? a Primitive Methodic.
