BURIAL OF DEAN ROLLAND
REEFTON, July 18. The fnneral of the Rev. Dean Rolland took place yesterday. The remains were followed by an immense concourse, which included visitors from all parts of the Coast. Previous to the funeral requiem mass was celebrated, in which twelve priests officiated. Bishop Grimes delivered a touching address, eulogising the memory of the de° ceased priest. The Inangahua Rifles and volunteers from other Coast towns were present, the town baud playing the ‘Dead March.’ At the conclusion of the last rites at the grave the volunteers fired three volleys.
